Nauset Model Railroad Club SATURDAY OPEN HOUSES
This hobby brings together mechanical, electrical, carpentry, painting and scenery design along with other skills to produce realistic images of full-scale reality. The classic “Millvale” module and the renowned “Union Freight” are on full display on the HO layout and the exquisite “Pawtucket - New Castle Station” is showcased in O-scale. In addition, there are improvements to discover in every layout. Club members will be on hand to show and explain the changes and answer questions on all aspects of model railroading and how to participate in the hobby and our club.
The Nauset Model Railroad Club is now 30 years old and has over 100 members from teen to senior – a mix of active collectors with train layouts, experienced modelers and authors, newcomers to the hobby, and others who simply enjoy learning and talking about railroading. The Club meets weekly, year-round, to run trains, build models, watch videos, conduct clinics and share experiences. At monthly operating sessions we work with switch lists and train orders to move freight and passengers the way the “big” railroads do. This is “real” railroading. Size doesn’t matter.
