More than 25 nature organizations, exhibitors, and speakers will be on hand for a variety of family-friendly activities, including guided nature walks, pontoon boat tours, live and mounted animal exhibits, touch-and-feel aquatic tanks, bird banding, a kids catch-and-release fishing tank, nature crafts and games, and other interactive demonstrations. The Chikawa Conroe Aztec Dancers and the Downtown Aquarium will perform at the Park’s outdoor stage and several noted speakers will offer presentations covering various topics, including ongoing conservation efforts along the Spring Creek Greenway. In addition to an expert-guided bird walk, local naturalist and author Gary Clarke will lead an insightful bird presentation and photographer Kathy Adams Clark will offer two photography walks. Other guided hikes will provide insights into pond ecology and wild edibles. Participants can also visit the many educational booths from exhibitors such as Mercer Botanic Gardens, Houston Zoo, Baytown Nature Center, Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Wardens, The Wildlife Center of Texas, Jesse Jones Park Volunteers, and more.
