From Curry Point we will hike to Rock City before descending into leafy Sycamore Canyon. Then we will ascend Black Hawk Ridge for magnificent views of Diablo and North Peak before making our way to the Knobcone Point area and intriguing Balancing Rock. From there we head back to our trailhead along a ridge with expansive views of Curry Canyon. Late season wildflowers should be present. Allow 6 hours for this 7.5 mile hike with a total elevation gain of about 1600 feet. Steady relaxed pace with a 30-minute lunch and other rest breaks. Be prepared for poison oak and warm temperatures.

Restrictions: Park regulations prohibit alcoholic beverages
Directions: From Oakland take Hwy 24 East to Walnut Creek, 680 South to Danville, take El Cerro exit, left on El Cerro which becomes Diablo Rd., left on Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd. which becomes South Gate Rd., go 3/4 mi. past Rock City and park at Curry Point trailhead. Allow extra time on State Park roads due to cycle traffic safety regulations.
