Participants will learn 4 key concepts of Motivational Interviewing. Participants will understand the connection between Extrinsic and Intrinsic factors in the development of motivation and behavior change with clients experiencing mental health issues. Participants will become familiar with and gain knowledge of the Stages of Change Model as it relates to Motivational Interviewing and behavior change. Participants will learn how to apply Motivational Interviewing styles and practices with clients experiencing mental health issues. Participants will gain understanding into the application of The Stages of Change Model with clients experiencing mental health issues.
