8:30 AM – Walking Meditation
9 AM – Creative Photo Walk
9:30 AM – Class Ends
After meeting and mingling, we will gather in the warm sunlight by the pond. Leave your cameras in the car (for now!) and meet us down by the pond with your mat or blanket for our first part of this unique class – meditation. We’ll introduce ourselves and then begin with guided morning meditation by Certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Maureen Dinkins.
Maureen has been teaching yoga since 2004 and believes it is an integral part of health and physical fitness. Through deep movements, stretches, binds and strengthening; in conjunction with synchronized breathing, a well-defined yoga practice will allow the body to recover quicker from workouts, injuries, and a stressed-out mind.
Through the years of yoga practice and encounters with teachers in America and abroad, Maureen was lead to add mediation to her daily wellness routines. For more than 2 decades, she has continued to practice meditation in conjunction with her daily yoga asanas.
After guiding us through simple but powerful breathing techniques and a morning meditation, we will stretch our legs and take a meditative walk around the lake and gardens. During this walking meditation, you will begin to notice all the beautiful scenery that you may feel the urge to photograph. But no cameras yet!
The goal is to stay in a meditative state and become aware of your surroundings and what makes you curious. You can wander and walk wherever you’re meditation takes you. We will gather again after 10-15 minutes to discuss our experiences. After we identify the different aspects of our surroundings that we were attracted too, it’s time to take photos.
You’ll grab your cameras, then wander around for another meditative walk through the park, capturing all the new perspectives you want.
As we explore this old, authentic Florida habitat, we’ll reveal in-the-moment lighting tips, interesting compositional techniques, and how to anticipate photo opportunities based on movement, perspective, and light. Danielle will share 3-5 new visual storytelling tricks that you can try to capture your stories.
In the end, we’ll share how each experience felt different, allowing us all to understand the relationship between breath, body, and mind. You will leave feeling a new sense of peace and joy as you gain new perspectives and literally see life through a new lens.
"There are lots of instructional books out there; however, some things are better learned hands-on. I believe photography is one of those things! Danielle is an awesome instructor and I thoroughly enjoyed her Beginner’s Photography Workshop! She took us back to basics, explained all the cool features and buttons on my camera and then focused (pun intended!) on the “need to know” functions. It was a great experience. Thank you!"

"I LOVED Danielle’s DSLR Photography class! I took a private lesson since I feel like I am just about at the intermediate level in photography. It was so helpful to meet with her one-on-one. She has a great, positive attitude, and her passion for photography is contagious!
Danielle provided some great tips and explained the aperture in a way that finally made sense to me. She really knows how to break down the science of photography. She also provided a Photography Reference Guide after the class, which I take with me whenever I go on a shoot! I’m looking forward to a Lightroom class soon.
I would definitely recommend Danielle!"

"Cannot say enough positive things about Danielle and this class. I have had a digital SLR for several years and was resigned to being intimidated by it… Danielle explained the functions of the camera and its settings so well. For the first time, I FINALLY am getting what it means to take the camera off “auto” and why and how to do that. We then took what she taught us and practiced with it outside — the only way to see if I was “getting it”. Worth every penny and then some."
