THE MISTERS
The music of actor & singer-songwriter Giullian Gioiello. "Met a Girl" out now on Spotify & Apple music.
Since their debut in the spring of 2016, The Misters have garnered a reputation for combining a keen sense of musicianship with a euphoric live show that is as enthralling on a physical level as it is on a sonic one. On their latest single "Make It Better," the band shows off a refined new sound that re-contextualises their ethereal songwriting within a non-traditional pop framework.
Their sound and style draw equally as much from the gusto of early '70s glam rock as it does the energy of mid-2000s power pop, writing songs that are both familiar and refreshing. The Misters don't just make you dance, they make you dare –– creating an urgency within their music that transcends the boundaries of any label or preconceived association. Last year, the Brooklyn-based four-piece put out their debut EP, Complicated People, which Impose called "a stunner" and praised singer Michael Nitting's vocals for "[exuding] a confidence found in artists like Brendan Urie or even Sinatra." On "Make It Better,” The Misters dip their toes into new waters with unexpected refrains and dynamic backing vocals. Their latest track flexes a more sophisticated approach to songwriting with intricate chord structures, vibrant harmonies, and atmospheric vocals. With guitarist Jim White making his debut as not just a co-writer but a producer, "Make It Better" showcases The Misters’ musical prowess while never straying too far from their roots. Rounding out the bands lineup are the rhythmic prowess of Todd Martin on drums and Brent Crude who ties together the bands sound with the warmth and comfort only a bass can provide. They are currently working on new music that they will be releasing throughout the remainder of 2018.
