Join the bus from Kansas City, Missouri to Lincoln, Nebraska to rally against the Keystone XL pipeline and March to Give KXL the Boot on Sunday, August 6th!

Nebraska's Public Service Commission has the ability to stop the Keystone XL pipeline and ahead of their vote this fall, and we need to show them that our Kansas City area stands with Nebraska against this dirty and dangerous project. We need you there with us to send the message that Keystone XL is a threat to our land, water, and climate, and is not in the public interest. It's time to stop this dirty pipeline once and for all!

Kansas City attorney Robin Martinez is working with Bold Alliance and Sierra Club opposing the pipeline.  He says we have strong expert witnesses and a compelling case.

Bus will arrive in Lincoln, NE at 10:00 AM in time for the Mid-West Pipeline Summit - a skillshare event (lunch provided).  The activities from 10 AM to 2 PM at Lincoln will be held inside a building a few blocks away from the capitol building. And they’ll be careful to have hydration stations. The 3 PM March will be about a mile in length, around a square route (so you can march as much or little as is comfortable.)

Bus loading for return trip will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 6th at the Nebraska State Capitol to return to Kansas City, MO by 9:30 PM.

Bus travel Q&As:

What do I need to bring?

Please bring comfortable clothes & shoes that you can plan to wear for the bus travel, indoor skillshare event and afternoon March and rally outside.

What about food?

Lunch will be provided at the Mid-West Pipeline Summit. We recommend that you bring your own snacks or meals for any part of the trip (and extra to share if you like!) and/or money to purchase food while in Lincoln.

Are there bathrooms on the bus?

There is a bathroom on the bus.

What about outlets / wifi on the bus?

There may be a limited amount of power outlets and a wifi network onboard the bus, but we can't guarantee these amenities since they are dependent on availability at our charter company. Please bring your own portable power pack and cell phone or hotspot if this is important to you.

Is the bus comfortable?

The buses we charter are fairly standard motorcoaches with a capacity of at least 54 passengers. These are NOT school buses. There is space for luggage underneath and small luggage racks onboard above the seats. The seats recline slightly and have reading lights. Feel free to bring a blanket or pillow to make it easier to take a nap.

Is there parking at the departure location?

Yes.

Who is organizing this trip?

This bus is organized by Sierra Club. It is open to all who would like to attend the March to Give KXL the Boot. Please contact Jim Turner at jimturner301@gmail.com with questions.

Should I book today or wait until closer to the trip date?

Book as soon as possible, today if you can. Once this bus fills up, we close off ticket purchases and even though we'd love to have you travel with us, we have to say no if we don't have the room.  If you want to come to Nebraska from Missouri for the March to Give KXL the Boot, please book as soon as you can to guarantee a seat!
