As givers and receivers of touch, learn to actively engage with your senses and bodily responses, and discuss how to incorporate mindful touch into your sexual practices. Explore the relationship between mindfulness, meditation, sensuality, mental health, and self-awareness. This class is based on the techniques of Sensate Touch, an 8-step process used in sex therapy. Its aim is to increase personal and interpersonal awareness of the self and others' needs. This workshop delves into the first step of Sensate Touching: mindfully touching a partner's body. This approach to intimacy has been beneficial to folks with general anxiety, performance anxiety, difficulty with focus and attention, or folks with PTSD and flashbacks.
All touch in this workshop will be non-sexual and excludes nipples, breasts and genitals. Solo students are welcome and can expect to either practice touching techniques by themselves, practice meditation, or partner up with clear negotiation. You do not need prior knowledge of the subject to attend this class.
