Facilitated by Barb Smucker

Unplug and join this six-week class that will help you reconnect to your environment, creativity and personal insights. Learn the gentle practice of keeping a daily art journal through simple art techniques, journal prompts and relaxation exercises.

Each week students will experiment with an art technique and apply it to multiple pages in their art journal. Additionally students will be directed toward simple writing/drawing/creativity exercises to add mindful activity to their life at home by developing a regular practice of journal keeping – at least for a season!

Barb Smucker has a BA in Art and Psychology from Baldwin Wallace College and an MA in Student Personnel and Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She is currently a studio artist at the Pendleton Art Center and has taught countless art classes and workshops throughout the region. Barb strives to create a safe and fun atmosphere in the classroom and encourages students to tap into their personal creativity.
