Miami New Moon Womxn's Circle by Shadow + Light

The New Moon is about alchemizing your dreams and desires into palpable presence.

This is our 7th new moon circle since I began these in June 2019 for the new moon in Cancer! I can't believe it's been less than a year and there are folx that have been coming to these circles since the beginning. This reflects the many reasons I feel a deep calling to connect with womxn in this way - solidarity, reciprocity, and empowerment. 

I've been attending womxn's circles for 4 years and every time I truly feel like I heal a piece of me. There have been times where I didn't say a word and was able to see myself reflected in others as they shared their deepest and raw truths. And there have been other times where I cried... sobbed even... the entire circle, shared what I was feeling, and allowed myself to be witnessed in that (this is particularly scary for me as an introvert). And there have also been times where I've felt grounded and in flow and been able to be the shoulder for another womxn to be witnessed that needed witnessing.

One of my mentors and leader of womxn's circles, Nisha Moodley, says, "The world will be set free by womxn who are free and sisterhood is the key." You see, healing is a ripple effect - when we heal so do others... And many of us who are healers - whether a teacher, the person that's always available to support their loved ones, social worker, matriarch, caregiver... it's sometimes low on the priority list to tend to OUR OWN needs, desires, emotions, breakthroughs and challenges.

This is something we connected about during our last New Moon in Aquarius circle. Recognizing the desire (and need) to beautifully tend to what the world needs (because let's be honest... the world is in crisis and things need to change). 

Here's what we shared at our last circle:

• An interactive walking visualization & meditation activity - our energies flowed through the river bed of Aquarius
• Connections between astrology & the natural plants & ecosystems at Finca Morada farm & wild culture center
• Silent herbal tea ritual meditation uniting our energies into an ever stronger collective force
• A supportive & safe space to share experiences, emotions, and ways in which we embodied the energy to support our new moon intention setting.
• Aquarius journal invitations: What's a way the you like to see yourself contributing to your community? What's an intention you've had floating in your head that you can transform into action? What does that process look like? How can you seek support, connect to collaborators to strengthen that action into a long term unfolding? What colors, plants, emotions, elements, archetypes can support this vision?
• A closing activity where we sewed our intentions along side literal heirloom amaranth seeds into pots to take home and nurture

For this upcoming New Moon in Pisces, we will:

• Learn about the moon cycles and what they mean for us in our lives.
• Explore how to embody PISCES: the interconnected, boundless emotionality, and ultimate space-holder of the zodiac.
• Dive deep into meditation and breath-work that resonates with the new moon in Pisces 
• Engage in dynamic movement flow to connect with Pisces in our bodies
• Draw connections between astrology & the natural plants & ecosystems at Finca Morada farm & wild culture center
• Cultivate intuitive practices to connect more deeply to our intentions and manifesting energy
• Connect, hold space, and share with everyone in the group 
• Build our collective power as womxn in solidarity!
