Learn about mental health and how to manage crisis situations in this FREE interactive 1-day course.
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Classes usually consist of 30 people or less and are offered in a respectful community setting in English or Spanish.
The Lake County Health Department through a SAMHSA grant is providing the books and materials free of charge to ensure your success in completing the course.

When you take a course, you learn how to apply the Mental Health First Aid action plan in a variety of situations, including when someone is experiencing:
You learn by getting involved with the material and relating what you learn to real-life applications. Discussion topics, scenarios, and other activities keep you engaged in the course and give you an opportunity to practice helping skills.
