Please join The American Legion Post 101 in honoring our men and women who gave their lives for our country. We celebrate Memorial Day on the last Monday of May - a time when all Americans commemorate those who died in the military service.

The history of Memorial Day goes back to the 19th century. People who lost their friends and relatives in the Civil War started to decorate the graves of their dead with flowers, wreaths, and flags. That is why the initial name of the holiday was Decoration Day. After World War I, all Americans adopted this remembrance tradition of the Southern states and devoted it to all those who died in any military action.

Today, Americans still go to cemeteries to decorate the graves and pay homage to their fallen heroes. Each of the seven Post 101 ceremonies is only about 10 minutes.

Please join our Legionnaires in expressing noble Memorial Day sentiments, commemorating those who gave their lives in service to our country. It is your opportunity to show respect to military service members' fallen comrades in arms, friends, and family.
