A 60-hour "Introduction to Medical Interpreting" training designed for individuals who want to be a qualified medical interpreter. This comprehensive course was created by Translation & Interpretation Network (TIN) (www.tintranslation.com) to train bilingual individuals in the basic methods, techniques, and performance of medical interpreting, while focusing on general medical knowledge, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Each session will provide extensive information on interpreting techniques, roles, professionalism, ethics, cultural considerations, and the varied contexts in which medical interpreters are often called upon to interpret in healthcare settings. In addition, this training will provide extensive hands-on, in-class participation and demonstration of acquired skills.
