SQL Server in Containers Workshop

Containers are eating the world. Yet when it comes to data, containerization is misunderstood or even frowned-upon. Running SQL Server in containers is easy and opens up a world of opportunities. AppDevs are working with containers, it's time data professionals did too.

It this hands-on WORKSHOP we'll actually get many SQL Server containers running on your laptop. Then we'll show you some real-world use cases. While our code is running we'll talk about the history of containers, what problems they solve, why they are so popular, and how Kubernetes in the cloud is changing softwware delivery. We'll also discuss common misconceptions around running databases in containers. Finally, we'll discuss how the latest features of Microsoft's SQL-based products are being build from the ground-up using containerization.
