SAME March 2020 General Membership/Luncheon Meeting

Join us for our monthly General Membership Meeting and Luncheon at the HESS Club in Houston.

Our speaker will be Mr. Gregg Hostetler, P.E..  Mr. Hostetler will give a presentation entitled “Alternative Contracting Methods including programmatic use of Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) and Design-Build contracting for public heavy-civil infrastructure”.

CONSOR Engineers’ Alternative Contracting Lead, Gregg Hostetler, P.E., a thought-leader in innovative bridge management solutions, has dedicated much of his private and public sector career to Alternative Contracting Methods (ACMs), including programmatic use of Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) contracting for local and tribal agencies. Mr. Hostetler is a national expert on CM/GC and Project Bundling, one of FHWA’s new EDC-5 initiatives, and has served in the following specific capacities since 2010:

  • Co-author for NCHRP Report 15-46, a Design-Guidebook for CM/GC and Design-Build
  • Member of FHWA Technical Working Groups (TWG) for Bridge Bundling and Project Bundling
  • Presenter on Local Agency Project Bundling for the upcoming EDC-5 Webinars and Summits
  • Co-facilitator for 2-Day CM/GC project kick-off meetings / training workshops for the Arkansas DOT, Colorado DOT, Louisiana DOT, and Denver Water
  • Presenter on CM/GC and Project Bundling topics at 17 national conferences
  • Co-trainer on the Role of the Independent Cost Estimator (ICE) in CM/GC projects/programs

As the former Assistant Public Works Administrator for Osceola County, FL, Mr. Hostetler co-led the most rapidly deployed highway and bridge design and construction Project Bundling Programs in the nation using Alternative Contracting, specifically CM/GC. This award-winning program was featured in Public Works Magazine, Construction Today, and ENR Magazine.  More recently he had a lead role in the Pueblo of Acoma’s (New Mexico) innovative and highly acclaimed project bundling program, representing the first tribal programmatic use of CM/GC in the Nation.  Currently, he is serving in a lead role as the Design Program Manager for the Pawnee Nation’s programmatic use of CM/GC in Oklahoma, a program that represents the first successful bundling of horizontal and vertical construction with CM/GC contracting.

Note: Walk-ins are welcome, but will be required to pay non-member prices ($58) except public agency representatives, whose price remains the same ($15). Please register by noon on February 28th to avoid the late registration fee.
