Dr. Osso Vahabzadeh, Principal Research Scientist, Apollo AI Inc. Dr. Tirthajyoti Sarkar, Senior Principal Technologist, ON Semiconductor   Registration/Pricing Info: The Boot Camp is available to register as a complete course and also as a custom package of individual workshops. For instance, you can select "Any 5 workshops" ticket and then make choices for the course in the registration form.  An example list of packages is given below for "Any 5 courses" ticket based on target application courses as in the table below. Discounts are available for ACM/IEEE members through the discount codes distributed through SFBayACM, IEEE and ValleyML.ai mailing lists. Early bird tickets last till the end of June. Regular registration period is from July 1st to August 15th. Late registration starts from August 16th. Introduction: As data sources proliferate along with the computing power to process them, going straight to the data is one of the most straightforward ways to quickly gain insights and make predictions. Machine learning brings together computer science and statistics to harness that predictive power. It’s a must-have skill for all aspiring data analysts and data scientists, or anyone else who wants to wrestle all that raw data into refined trends and predictions. This is a training that will teach you the end-to-end process of investigating data through a machine-learning lens. It will teach you how to extract and identify useful features that best represent your data, a few of the most important machine learning algorithms, and how to evaluate the performance of your machine learning algorithms. In this Boot Camp, you will learn about the most effective machine learning techniques, and gain practice implementing them and getting them to work for yourself. More importantly, you'll learn about not only the theoretical underpinnings of learning, but also gain the practical knowledge needed to quickly and powerfully apply these techniques to new problems. This series of workshops are focused on explaining the foundations and intuitions of machine learning / deep learning along with guided programming exercises and applying deep learning techniques to practical applications in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Robotics, and Intelligent Video Analytics to solve real-world problems. In hands-on workshops, you will work on a project to create and deploy working applications.   Details: Attendees would have access to course materials (presentations and programming exercises as well as video resources). Help would be available through Slack channels, which attendees can join through invitation and ask questions after each workshop. The topics covered in each workshop are described in detail below. For hands-on workshops 5 - 8, you will have a chance to work on a 5-week project, which starts from the second week of October and ends in the first week of November. The project instructions are provided every week according to the schedules in the table below. We have office hours right after the instructions so that you can ask questions and/or work on your project. The remote access to the instructions would be available through WebEX. The recorded instruction videos would also be available along with video resources through Thinkific (https://www.thinkific.com/). Help would also be available through Slack channel, which attendees can join through invitation and ask questions during 5 weeks for each project. Attendees will receive the feedback from instructors for each competed project. Project for Hands-on Workshop Instructions / Office hours 5. Deep Learning for Computer Vision Hands-on Workshop Mondays (Oct 7 – Nov 4), 6 PM – 8 PM 6. Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing Hands-on Workshop Tuesdays (Oct 8 – Nov 5), 6 PM – 8 PM 7.Deep Learning for Robotics Hands-on Workshop Wednesdays (Oct 9 – Nov 6), 6 PM – 8 PM 8.Deep Learning for Intelligent Video Analytics Hands-on Workshop Thursdays (Oct 10 – Nov 7), 6 PM – 8 PM   Target Audiences: Engineers, researchers, practitioners and students who are interested in data science, machine learning, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, reinforcement learning and their real-time production deployment. This workshop series will particularly benefit people who intend to develop machine learning techniques and applications that can keep improving themselves after seeing more and diverse data to achieve intelligence and/or wants to pursue a career in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.   FAQs: What are the materials that are provided to the attendees? Course slides in PDF and other workshop materials will be shared with registered attendees 5-days before the course. In addition, programming examples/exercises are also provided as Jupyter notebooks so that attendees can run them from their browser using Google Colaboratory (a hosted Jupyter notebook environment that is free to use and requires no setup). Will the attendees get IEEE Certificate for Professional Development Hours for this event? Yes. This event is reviewed and approved by IEEE continuing Education. Please contact us at the email from which your Eventbrite registration ticket is sent. Apollo AI, who is an approved IEEE Certificate Provider, is working with IEEE (https://www.ieee.org/education/continuing-education.html) to provide this. We will send instructions to the attendees after the course on the form that need to be filled. An example of IEEE Certificate is provided here: IEEE Certificates guarantee that education program meets IEEE standards, and offers some of the most relevant content that engineers need to stay ahead.  IEEE Certificates will help technical professionals: Gain a competitive advantage Update their knowledge and skills Build professional credibility Earn the CEUs/PDHs they need to keep their licenses current A not-for-profit organization, IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Please see this https://www.ieee.org/education/certificates/ceus-faqs.html for more information on IEEE Certificates. What do I need to bring into the event for each Workshop? You want to bring a laptop with the provided Course slides in PDF and Jupyter notebook examples along with your favorite browser. I purchased  "Any 5 workshops"  ticket and it mentions all the courses I selected. However, the ticket mentions only 1 day (8/22). Is the ticket valid for all the workshops listed on my ticket. Sorry for the confusion - it has to do with how eventbrite handles multi-day events. Yes, the ticket is valid for a all the workshops listed on your ticket. I purchased  "All 8 workshops (complete package)"  ticket.  However, the ticket mentions only 1 day (8/22). Is the ticket valid for all the workshops? Sorry for the confusion - it has to do with how eventbrite handles multi-day events. Yes, the ticket is valid for a all the 8 workshops. What is ValleyML.ai? Valley Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ValleyML.ai) is the most active and important community of ML & AI Companies and Start-ups, Data Practitioners, Executives and Researchers in the Silicon Valley. ValleyML.ai bring together business leaders and applied machine learning and deep learning practitioners. We collaborate with other non-profit professional organizations such as SF Bay ACM, IEEE Silicon Valley AI/CS/CAS/ITSoC/RAS/SSCS Chapters and other AI related organizations bringing a series of regularly planned events, seminars, conferences, and workshops. We plan to cover the state-of-the-art advancements in AI technology. We have free tickets for IEEE/ACM students, members in transition and discounted tickets for IEEE/ACM members. Events sponsored by corporations or organizations may charge the attendee fees to cover the expenses (such as venue, refreshments, speaker fees, preparation fees for course materials and software, revenue sharing with other non-profits such as SF Bay ACM who helps on publicity) associated with the event. Attendees for most of the workshops get IEEE Certificates for Professional Development Hours if the courses are organized by Approved Provider of IEEE Certificates. Each event would be financially sponsored and organized by a corporation or an organization working on ML/AI. ValleyML.ai focuses on designing the overall technical program and the speaker selection.
