As a Jewish child in Nazi-occupied Europe, Irene Butter survived two concentration camps before coming to the United States in 1945. At this Lunch and Learn program, she will talk about her experiences, which she describes in her book, "Shores Beyond Shores: From Holocaust to Hope, My True Story." Butter is a well-known peace activist, professor emerita of the public health at the University of Michigan, and an inspirational speaker. Her book is one of the 2018 National Reading Group Month Great Group Reads. Lunch will be provided at no cost.
Willard Library programs are free and open to the public.
