Cultivating loving, meaningful relationships is an art that is laid out practically and eloquently in the bhakti tradition. This one day immersion is an exploration of those six loving exchanges and the ways we can give and receive love in practical and powerful ways.
MORNING SESSION: Meet & Greet, Giving and Receiving Prasadam
Scriptural foundations of the power of prasadam, how to serve and receive with love and gratitude; group discussions and activities
AFTERNOON SESSION: Revealing One’s Mind in Confidence, Receiving the Confidence of Another
Scriptural and Research-based foundations of the power of listening, being understood, and sharing the heart; group discussions and activities
LATE AFTERNOON SESSION: Giving and Receiving Gifts
Scriptural and psychological foundations of giving and receiving gifts; group discussions and activities
EVENING SESSION: Closing & Kirtan
Taking the Six Loving Exchanges into our Lives and how the holy name purifies relationships
The immersion will feature lunch and dinner (please notify the course organizer any special dietary requests). Students will learn practical skills for each session and activities will involve a combination of scriptural study and discussion, dramatic reenactments, group work, written reflections, field work, etc.
Our timeline is from 9:30am to 7pm, including lunch and dinner and 2-3 breaks. Students are expected to attend the entire immersion to build community and trust.
