Join Michael Monroe for a Log Cabin Concert and Reception, now in their 15th year, which takes place in his log home near Grand Marais.Spend an evening with he and Deb along with others who attend to listen to his amazing music. From vinyl to digital, performing acoustic folk/reggae on vocals, bamboo/crystal flutes, custom acoustic guitars: works-of-art made of reclaimed 200 year old wood from the bottom of Lake Superior. Monroe has been recording in his solar-powered MisTree Studio since 1994, on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Recycling his award winning music “live” using technology powered by creativity…he is “a band in his own mind!” Looping his harmonies on the fly, he creates a rich, multi-layered acoustic sound and brings flavors of James Taylor, Cat Stevens and a bit O Bob Marley.

Michael’s award winning soundtracks have been featured on PBS/CBC, Toronto Enviro/New York Indie Film Fests in the “Chased By The Light” documentary about National Geographic’s Jim Brandenburg’s 90 Day Photo Journey. Michael also received a regional Emmy for “Soaring On Mended Wings.” In 2013, Michael Monroe’s Log Cabin Concerts were featured in 2013 on KSTP TV’s Jason Davis’ ON THE ROAD, and in Cabin Life and Lake/Superior Magazines. The Star Tribune in 2014-15 presented his music as a soundtrack to their feature, “MN State of Wonders,” as well as in 2015 featured his Log Cabin Concerts in Grand Marais.
He’s recorded 11 albums of original music with one TOP Ten Star Tribune. Legacy funds were awarded Monroe for his 2 DVDs : “LIFE OF MY TIME” and “LOG CABIN CONCERTS” about the concerts hosted in his log home near Grand Marais, MN.
