Live Sound 101 training is vital for volunteers in houses of worship, to club and venue technicians that need to learn the the most valuable and insightful information needed about running live sound. Its about giving you the information you need to be effective behind a mixer instead of dangerous. We want you to be fluent and comfortable making changes and troubleshooting problems, not fearful and stressed out. We want to give you a better outlook on engineering by giving you the tools you need to be the best person for the job. This class is built to supply you with a working understanding of a sound system from source to speaker and everything in between. We will have musicians, instruments, mics, cables, mixers, multiple types of speaker configurations and more for you to interact with as you learn how everything fits together to make a great live show. The curriculum is also easy to understand and great for future reference to help solve problem and practice the techniques you learn in your own sound environment. Subject for 101 will include but are not limited too; System Setup and Configuration Mic Placement and Selection Gain Staging EQ, Compression, and Gate Setup Creating useful shortcuts and habits Mute Groups Digital FX Routing Bus and Monitor Mixing There will also be time for us to answer your questions and help address you individual system needs. We know that we can not cover every piece of gear in the world and we really don't want too. We want to teach theories on being a great sound engineer that translate across gear and make you a better at getting great sound from any hardware you encounter. We will have a catered lunch and dinner that is included in the ticket price, and we will be providing special gear discounts for ticket holders. Teagan Shunkwiler will be teaching 101 as well as many future courses to come. He has 16 years experience in audio engineering and has done well over 800 live shows. He is the System Designer and Lead Installer for Limitless Lights & Sound, Station Engineer for Vinyl Draught Radio, Producer and Engineer for BTB Studios in Friendswood, was Director of Production for The Fellowship Church in Texas City, and as an independent contractor has done live sound for untold amounts of touring bands, and years of Sunday services for 50+ churches in Texas and across the US. https://www.instagram.com/ibuildbigtoys/ https://limitlesslightsandsound.com/
