There are 8,762 such tracts designated within all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and five United States territories. Real estate development projects located in these Zones can choose to establish Qualified Opportunity Funds, allowing some investors in the project to realize favorable tax treatment and facilitating the sponsor's capital raise.

Sam has extensive real estate development, management, financing, and brokerage experience in Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Georgia, and internationally in the People’s Republic of China. In addition to his role with Ozone Financing, Sam is a Managing Partner at EB5 Affiliate Network, where he leads project strategy, investments, and business structuring. Sam was also previously employed by the Boston Consulting Group, one of the top management consulting and business strategy firms in the world where he worked directly with Fortune 500 Companies. Sam is also a Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 National Winner for Social Entrepreneurship. Sam holds a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Mandarin Chinese from Yale University, a Certificate in Financial Accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Michael Schoenfeld

Mike has extensive private equity investment, business diligence, management consulting, and entrepreneurship experience. In addition to his role with Ozone Financing, Mike is a Managing Partner at EB5 Affiliate Network, where he leads project strategy, investments, and business structuring. Mike previously worked for AEA Investors, a leading middle-market private equity firm with $6B under management. Mike was previously employed by the Boston Consulting Group, one of the top management consulting and business strategy firms in the world where he worked directly with Fortune 500 Companies. Mike is also a Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 National Winner for Social Entrepreneurship. Mike holds a B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Reid Thomas

Reid Thomas is Executive Vice President and General Manager of NES Financial’s Specialty Financial Administration, focusing on technology-enabled EB-5, 1031 and Opportunity Zone fund administration.

Reid is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Specialty Financial Administration business unit. To this role he brings decades of leadership experience in both public and private companies, primarily in high-growth Silicon Valley technology companies. At NES Financial, Reid has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the company's EB-5 and Opportunity Zone businesses, working to develop the purpose-built software solutions and dedicated client services teams, which have propelled the company into leadership positions in both industries.

Reid actively contributes to both the EB-5 and Opportunity Zone communities as a writer and as a speaker at events and conferences across the country. In 2018, he received IIUSA’s “Industry Game Changer” award for his visionary work in the EB-5 space.
