Laura Ainsworth grew up watching her dad, renowned big band musician Billy Ainsworth, back such idols as Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme. Today, she keeps the family tradition alive in a style critics have dubbed "new vintage."  She mixes classic lounge jazz with modern touches to create her own unique twist on standards and lost gems of the Great American Songbook, as well as new songs in that elegant style. Her smooth, sultry vocals have been compared to such mid-century chanteuses as Dinah Shore, Julie London and Jo Stafford.  Her albums “Keep It To Yourself” and “Necessary Evil” have earned critical raves and worldwide airplay, and she has sung from Las Vegas to India.

The Metropolitan Room is proud to present the New York solo debut of this elegant Texas songbird, in celebration of the summer release of her highly-anticipated third album, “New Vintage” and a new "best of" audiophile vinyl LP.  Accompanying her will be her pianist/producer Brian Piper, 2012 "Dallas Jazz Musician of the Year," of the 'Nawlins Gumbo Kings and Jerry Jeff Walker's Gonzo Compadres Band.
