Latin Groove with Gerardo Contino

Gerardo Contino:
Gritty, witty and streetwise, the Havana-born Gerardo Contino, "El Abogado de la Salsa," is a Cuban singer and songwriter. This former lead singer of the Cuban mega-group NG La Banda is a party onstage: he loves to improvise and to pull the audience into call & response. Gerardo created Los Habaneros in 2012 and released their first album, Somos Latinos, in 2013. In 2015, Gerardo also joined the Max Weinberg Orchestra as the lead-Latin singer and the Larry Harlow's Latin Legend's Band. With the Latin Legend's, Gerardo has toured in Japan and Colombia (upcoming). Through his musical projects, Gerardo has toured in Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, and Canada. He has played in international festivals of salsa and jazz such as Toulouse Festival, France; Latin American Festival of Milan, Italy; Festival Fiesta, Rome, Italy; Festival of Múnich, Switzerland, Copenhagen Festival, Denmark; Salsa Festival of Verona, Italy; and, Afro-American Roots of Maracay, Venezuela. Gerardo has also shared the stage with such artists as Max Weinberg, Oscar de Leon, Larry Harlow, Roberto Roena, El Gran Combo, La India, Los Van Van, Xiomara Laugart, Carlos Varela, Alexander Abreu, Frank Fernandez, Osdalgia, Giovanni Hidalgo, Kelvis Ochoa, David Torrens, and Jose Armando Gola.

Zāna is an accomplished up-and-coming singer-songwriter and versatile musician with a sultry voice and distinct writing style that combines Arabic and Latin influences to create her ‘gypsy-pop’ sound, which is both catchy and soulful, enabling her to flaunt her hip-shaking belly dancing moves while performing. Originally from Oakland, CA, she currently resides and performs in New York City. In 2016 Zāna earned a BA in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Having collaborated with Grammy-winning producers Tim Mitchell and George Noriega, Zāna has launched a solo career as a pop artist.

The evening will kick off at 7:30 pm with
Zāna and Victor Rosso-Two Solo Artists based out of NYC

Victor Rosso, a singer-songwriter and graduate from National Institute of Art (originally from Havana, Cuba), have been performing a blend of popular covers and Latin/Gypsy-Pop originals together across the Tri-State area for the past year. Their mixed elements and musical influences paired with their fun-loving stage presence make for an overall captivating show.
