Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive Butterfly Garden Maintenance
Weeding parties are the first Saturdays of the month starting at 8 am (NEW TIME as of November).
Bring your weeding tools and gloves. We'll have some loaners. No one has to work too long but please show up and let's discuss and do a little!
The garden, just past the entrance to the Wildlife Drive on Lust Road (near the first kiosk), was established by the Friends of Lake Apopka and is being continued as a collaboration with the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive Facebook Group and Orange Audubon Society, with assistance from the St. Johns River Water Management District.
It demonstrates native butterfly plants you can put in your own yard and provides an opportunity for observation and photography of butterflies and other pollinators.
Oct 7 (changed to Sunday due to scheduling conflict)
If everyone could volunteer a little bit of their time, we can divide the work and time commitments. Contact Deborah Green at firstname.lastname@example.org if any questions.
