Down to Mars

"The Kentucky bred production duo “Down To Mars” blends old and new influences to bring a new sound to hip hop and r&b. Malachi and Pinky formed the group after moving in together in 2017, where they continued to develop their craft and gain notoriety for their music productions.

Their first single, “The Loneliest Number,” released in June 2019 amassed 149,000 streams on Spotify and continues to grow. They’ve secured placements on prominent playlists such as Discover Weekly, Fresh Finds, and Shisha Lounge.

They’ve been making a name for themselves producing for artists such as viral superstar Zaza, (‘What I do’), Bblasian, (‘Who’s with Me’), and Dope Tajy (‘Wild Thing’). Drawing their influence from sounds of the past like Jimi Hendrix, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bootsy Collins, D’Angelo, and gospel music while simultaneously incorporating modern sounds into their music, Down to Mars is carving out their place in the music industry.

Knyves Escobar

Washington, D.C. native Knyves Escobar has always had a passion for creative self-expression. "It’s always been a part of me—I have my dad to thank for starting me out young; blasting Earth Wind & Fire on weekend mornings and making sure I was playing instruments (cello) and singing." She writes and produces her own music as a way to parse through and reflect on painful situations, but has found inspiration in being able to resonate with people who can relate to her own experiences.

Stephn

DMV artist Stephn kick-started his music career in 2018, working on his first project “Time Before Us”. Released first as a visual project then paired with an EP, he managed to weave together fashion, creative direction, and music to create pure forms of self-expression. His energy did not go unnoticed. After quickly selling out his EP release party, he then performed at AMFest Music Festival, opened for Kari Faux at Songbyrd Music Cafe, and supported Mac Ayres' D.C show on his Juicebox tour. Stephn doesn’t shy away from getting to the root of emotional vulnerability when creating his art. Through this honest approach, he’s able to create a genuine connection with his audience.
