David Joe Miller Presents, Kim Weitkamp with TONGUE & PEN, Intention and Focus in the Creative Process A masterclass for storytellers and story-writers of all levels of expertise! No matter your course in life, writer/spoken word artist/speaker, Kim will inspire you as well as give you insight into the power and affect of storytelling as a viable craft. Whether you share storytelling through tongue or pen, learning to tell the story with intention will help keep you focused and grounded as you create the work through the layers of your piece. The workshop will also consider: Story Boxing: A simple yet effective way to dissect your material. Presenting to an audience: Oral storytellers and speakers are not the only ones who present to a listening audience. Writers, if they want to build a reader base, must interact with and present to groups. We will cover applicable ways to make you and your work more appealing to the reader AND listener. Workship begins at 1pm and ends a little before 5pm on Satudray afternoon. Location is the second floor boardroom at Lenoir-Ryhne University and Asheville Visitors Center on Montford Ave. Free parking and handicap accessible via elavator from main lobby. Bring tongue, paper and pen/pencil with you! 39.00 fee online or at door. Limited seating!
