Over the past 20 years, the tireless work of many organizations and leaders has driven significant reform in how juveniles are treated by justice systems across the country. While there is much to celebrate, challenges on the federal and state levels threaten this momentum, and reform advocates are taking the lead on the substantial work yet to be done to improve the lives of youth involved with the law.

Join a conversation on progress and the road ahead for juvenile justice reform in Illinois, featuring the following national and local perspectives:

Julie Biehl, Director, Children and Family Justice Center at Northwestern University
Barbara Flynn Currie, State Representative, 25th District
Laurie Garduque, Director of Justice Reform, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation
Marsha Levick, Deputy Director and Chief Counsel, Juvenile Law Center
Xavier McElrath-Bey, Senior Advisor and National Advocate, Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth
Ben Roe, Resident Judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court
Julia Stasch, President, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation
Hon. George Timberlake, Chair, Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission
Laura Washington, Columnist, Chicago Sun-Times (moderator)

To attend, please RSVP no later than February 15. Seating is limited and available
on a first come, first served basis.
