The ferociously talented, award-winning duo of Barb Jungr and John McDaniel will bring a new show, "1968 - Let The Sun Shine In," to Joe’s Pub in New York City for four performances, July 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th at 7pm. With their potent musical synergy, Jungr and McDaniel reinvent some of the most iconic anthems of the pivotal year of 1968, when the Viet Nam War and its protestors clashed and raged, and the U.S. saw the assassinations of both Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King. The repertoire of "1968 - Let The Sun Shine In" reflects the tenor of the times with titles including "Born to be Wild," "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?," "Revolution" and "Everlasting Love." Tickets are on sale now at: https://tinyurl.com/y8m2gt6w or by phone at 212-967-7555. Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater is at 425 Lafayette Street, NY 10003. The groundbreaking musical, HAIR, from which the title of the show was coined, debuted at the Public Theater in 1968.

This event follows the release in 2016 of their highly acclaimed album "Come Together - Barb Jungr and John McDaniel Perform The Beatles" as well as their acclaimed show, "Float Like A Butterfly - The Songs of STING." Jungr and McDaniel will release a studio recording of that show this summer.

Barb Jungr and John McDaniel have amassed many honors in their separate careers from Grammys and Emmys to Bistro and Nightlife Awards.  Barb Jungr has recorded 18 solo albums, many for Linn Records, receiving outstanding reviews worldwide and winning many awards. She has previously examined the songbooks of Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Jacques Brel, Nina Simone and Elvis Presley. Jungr and McDaniel’s collaboration has now produced two recordings. Barb Jungr was named Time Out New York's #1 Top Live Cabaret Act for 2011. John McDaniel has arranged and/or conducted 10 Broadway Shows including Patti LuPone on Broadway, Grease and Chicago. He was the Music Director for the Rosie O'Donnell Show for its entire 6 year run and has worked with the top tier of vocalists and musicians, including Tony Bennett, Madonna and Liza Minnelli. He is currently the Artistic Director of the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s Cabaret and Performance Conference.
