THIS IS AN OUTDOOR, FAMILY LITERACY & ARTS EVENT...
Join us at Detroit Book City's Juneteenth Books, Poetry & Arts Fair 2018 at Northwest Activity Center, 18100 Meyers Rd, Detroit, MI. 48235 on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 12 noon - 8pm This exciting one-day event celebrates "FREEDOM" in the expression of books, art & spoken word - - at the family level.
At the Juneteenth event, we combine books sales with the arts. Spectators buy African-American self-published adult & children's books, spoken word artists CDs/DVDs, and hand crafted items from artisans who create ceramics, croquet knits, candles, soaps, beauty products, jewelry, artists who created drawings and paintings & tasty food vendors..
You'll also enjoy Keynote Speakers, LIVE interactive storytelling and 'LIVE' spoken-word performances via a captive audience, Zumba & Hustle dancing, KIDZONE, FREE health screenings & musical sounds by DJ Holly.
Bring your family, church members, book club, youth group, school, neighbors, girlfriends, sport teams... EVERYONE IS INVITED!!

We are NOW accepting the following exhibitors: Book Authors, Spoken-Word Artists, Visual Artists, Artisans and Food Vendors. Food Vendors must obtain a 1-Day Food Permit from the City of Detroit. Pre-packaged food items, no permit needed. Here's the application link:

Authors/Visual Artists/Artisans - $75
Small Pkg Food Vendors - $75
Truck Food Vendors - $125
Spoken Word Artist Set - $25 - 20 mins.
Storytelling/Author Pitch- $15 -15 mins.
All Exhibitors are provided with 1 table, 2 chairs & exhibitor badge. No electricity is provided. Vendors can bring their own 8' x 8' or 8'x 10' ONLY Tents, at your discretion.
