May/June YAS! (DMR Youth After School) - Charlottesville, VA 2020

DMR Adventures is thrilled to announce the addition of YAS!, our new Youth After School program. Theater beginners and experienced young thespians will have the chance to reach their highest peak with daily artistic creation. All of the theatrical arts will be covered: acting, dancing, singing, and technical theater (costumes, lights, sound). We will also introduce students to specialty performing arts such as improv, stand-up comedy, juggling, etc. This program is open to grades K-6. YAS! is open from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. YAS! will operate when Charlottesville City schools are in session for the full day. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, YAS! will be closed. Registration is on a “first come, first served” basis. If your child will attend fewer than 5 days a week, we prefer that you choose the same days every week during each session so that we can better plan programming. There are discounts for the following: *Walker Upper Elementary students. *Families with multiple registered siblings. *Registering for 4 or more months by September 2, 2019 Currently, we do not provide transportation from schools, but if your child takes a Charlottesville City Schools bus from the following schools, an adult will be present at these nearby bus stops to walk registered students to our studio: Clark Elementary (bus stop - Carlton Road/Carlton Ave between 2:30-2:35) Burnley-Moran Elementary (bus stop - E. Market St/Carlton Rd 3:00-3:05) Walker Upper Elementary (bus stop - Carlton Rd/Carlton Ave 3:40-3:50) Sample Daily Schedule 2:30-3:30 Snack time plus student choice of board games, quiet study or other activities 3:30-4:15 Dance/Movement 4:15-5:00 Acting Games 5:00-5:30 Group Voice Lesson Students must bring their own snacks and water bottle each day.
