Deepen your relationship with our own inner voice as you make the Jewish Studio Process your own. In this group we will be both doing the full Jewish Studio Process as well reflecting on it in real time. All the questions you've ever had about the Process are welcome, including: What if my witness doesn't speak to my intention? What if my technical skills aren't enough for what my image wants? How do I move from text study to image making in a way that's meaningful both to me and to the text? What if I feel like I'm done and there's still time left? What if I'm bored by what I create? What does it really mean to "follow my pleasure"? Build community with others who want to go deeper into this work as together we grow our relationship to ourselves, to one another and to our tradition.

The Jewish Studio Process is a dynamic methodology that weaves together Jewish learning with expressive art-making as a tool for social and personal change, allowing us to investigate our sacred texts, surface our questions, and envision new possibilities for ourselves and our world.

This is a group for those who have had prior exposure to the Jewish Studio Process, feel free to reach out to aliza@jewishstudioproject.org directly with questions regarding eligibility. Pre-registration required.

JSP Community of Practice is co-led by an extraordinary mother-daughter team. Rabbi Adina Allen is co-founder and Creative Director of The Jewish Studio Project. Dr. Pat Allen is an artist, writer, art therapist and teacher who developed the Open Studio Process, the foundation of the expressive arts component of JSP. Her books include Art is a Way of Knowing, Art is a Spiritual Path, and the speculative fiction novel, Cronation.
