Joe West's Eclectic Trio
Beloved Santa Fe singer/songwriter JOE WEST teams up with two of the most notorious musicians from Northern New Mexico for a whirlwind tour of the Midwest. JOE WEST'S ECLECTIC TRIO is a wonderful combination of Joe's original quirky americana songs and stories with the avant guard cello stylings of MIKE THE CELLO PLAYER and the vaudevillian blues accompaniment of multi-instrumentalist

Santa Fe's Joe West is certainly a man of the landscape and the people. His quirky endearing songs and stories are peppered with tales of fallen angels and characters from his own life experience; from the girl who works at the rehab clinic (Rehab Girl) to the Filipino transexual outlaw who shoots up an Oklahoma Bar (Jimmy Joe The Wrangler). His sense of personal tragedy is always balanced with a high dose of wit and humor, which leads an audience to fall in love with the yarns he spins.
Joe hails from Santa Fe but spent years in South Dakota learning theater and music and then stints in New York City as an actor and street musician. In the mid 90's Joe moved to Austin Texas where he and his band,The Sinners, became an award-winning fixture in local clubs. By the early 21st century he found himself back in his hometown of Santa Fe living with his significant other and their daughter, to whom he has committed his life, on the old family ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Over the last several years, Joe has created a plethora of music and theatrical projects that are a testament to his exorbitant creativity: a full-length rock opera, a full-time theater company, nine CDs of his original music, and most recently, Joe created music for the Emmy Award Winning documentary SPLIT ESTATE as well as the Emmy Award Nominated television documentary IN CONTACT WITH BEAUTY for Texas Public Broadcasting. Joe's music has also been featured in the feature film CONSPIRACY starring Val Kilmer and the TNT Television series SAVING GRACE.
Joe is touring the Midwest and parts of the Southwest this summer before he settles down in the fall to create his yearly theatrical event of Horror and Comedy, Theater of Death, produced in Madrid, New Mexico during the Halloween season.
Quirky. Creative. Prolific. Poetic. Joe West’s music is a unique blend of incredible musicianship that is smart, accessable and definitely funny. The Joe West Eclectic Trio will be even more so.
