The Power of Agile in the Age of No Code

Understand the “Power of Agile” (Software Development) and how it aligns with Design Thinking. This rapid prototyping approach means project MVPs can be launched much sooner, with less effort, and a team’s focus can transition from - detailed requirements, complex scope of work, and long development cycles (6-9 months) - to a new focus on user interviews to drive feedback on the simplest conceptual version of an app, which is then built in sprints (2-4 week cycles).

Dr. Michael Barnes is an avid educational technology advocate. Dr. Barnes has received his Master's in Computer Science from UTRGV and a Ph.D. in Education Policy from UT Austin. As a former school leader, entrepreneur, and technology professional, Dr. Barnes has contributed much of his time to increasing technological capabilities for schools. He served as the CEO for TeacherTalent, a K-12 human capital management company that assists client school districts in identifying teachers based on teacher effectiveness predicted via AI solutions and big data applications. Within two months, Dr. Barnes and his team were able to increase recurring monthly revenues from $2.5K to approximately $200K. His company was successfully acquired by EBQuickstart out of Austin, TX. Currently, he serves as a General Partner for Radical Equity Fund where he continuously show his passion for technology and education initiatives.
