Introduction to MI WESTERN NC

Motivational Interviewing (MI)- a way of working with an individual to help them come up with own arguments for change. MI has been found to be useful in the practice of substance use treatment, supported employment, wellness and recovery services and in psychiatric rehabilitation. This workshop will take participants through the history of MI, basic foundations of MI and key skills practiced in MI. It will prepare participants for a more advanced, intermediate MI workshop and will allow participants to begin their MI practice with those they serve. Appropriate for all learning levels.
