Introduction to Metal Fabrication

During this 4 hour metal fabrication workshop, students will create a small scale coffee table. The instructor will guide you through welding, metal forming, and machine operation to construct the frame of your project. After the main frame of the project is created, wood will be used to complete the surfaces of each piece.
Important Things to Note:
Introduction to Metal Fabrication provides a hands-on introduction to metalworking and fabrication. Along with learning the basics of metalworking, the class will cover manufacturing and assembly of metal components as done in a professional metal shop.
Each design also incorporates the use of woodworking techniques to help complete the exterior of the project.
To achieve the perfect mix of high-quality metalworking with a clean wood finish, we will cover wood finishing techniques, like grinding, smoothing, blending, and patination.
