Intro To Coding Workshop for Women

IAWW-ANVI and Skillspire partner to offer an Intro to Coding Workshop.

 Please join Skillspire Instructor and Full Stack developer, Samia Ahmed, for an "Intro to Coding" workshop on August 22, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. 

NOTE: The India Association Of Western Washington will subsidize the cost of the event and match the Registration fee to make this workshop more accessible for participants. 

The main goal of the “Intro to Coding” workshop is to introduce women from diverse backgrounds to the opportunities available in the booming tech sector. The workshop will cover career trends, salaries, and pathways. You will learn basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Please bring a working laptop and install the following software on the computer:

About the Instructor - Samia is a software engineer and full stack web development instructor. She studied Biology at UW and worked in natural sciences and research before self teaching programming, and ultimately joined a coding bootcamp to solidify her computer science knowledge. Samia has a passion for teaching and has worked as an instructor of a variety of STEM subjects for many years. She hopes to help diversify the tech industry by training more women and minorities into full stack developers and break into the world of IT.
