Intersections of Domestic Violence and Homelessness

Intersections of Domestic Violence and Homelessness
Event ended

6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21Houseless, east wing, level 1

Join us the first of three Friday evening lectures presented by AWAIC. Tonight, we explore how domestic violence contributes to homelessness. For years, advocates have known that domestic violence is a primary cause of homelessness for women and families. Discussion centers the issues faced by survivors of domestic violence, who often are forced to leave the security of a home with little time to gather important documents and possessions and nowhere else to turn. Audience participation is encouraged. Free with advance registration.

This is one of the partner programs associated with Houseless, an exhibition and community programming series at the museum Feb. 7 through April 5, 2020.
