The largest single organism on Earth is neither a whale nor a redwood tree -- it's a fungus! Cyanobacteria gave the Earth oxygen. CRISPR is from bacteria's immune system, as are restriction enzymes that are an important part of recombinant DNA technology. PCR is possible because of the heat stable DNA polymerase enzyme of extremophiles from thermo hot springs.

Companies are using fungi, algae, and bacteria to make drugs, food, supermaterials, and sustainable biochemicals. And did we mention beer? It seems to be only getting better!

This month's speakers are nothing short of AMAZING!

2. Lisa Dyson - Co-founder and CEO of Kiverdi
3. Alexander Lorestani - Co-founder and CEO of Gelzen
4. Philip Ross - Co-founder and CTO of MycoWorks
