iFLY WHO Day STEM Event - January 28, 2020

Join us as we bring together home school students and their families from across WA State for a day of science, fun and flying!

iFLY’s Unique vertical wind tunnel provides the perfect environment to show students how exciting STEM can be! Our Education Program has been designed by professional educators to support and enhance STEM learning in the classroom.

At iFLY students learn real world application of math, science, and engineering. We build awareness of STEM careers and show students that STEM can be more than what they read about in a textbook.

This event will include a lecture, practical demonstration, classroom experiment and flight experience with iFLY STEM educators. The trip provides a unique, interactive an exciting alternative to a typical field trip. In addition to flight time for each student, they will also have the opportunity to test how different objects, such as water and tennis balls, behave in the wind tunnel.

IFLY is safe for all ages. Our expert instructors are professionally trained and make sure flyers feel safe and comfortable at all time. Parents are encouraged to sign up as well and participate in the full experience with their children. To prevent overcrowding in the classroom, (1) additional non-flying adult family member per reservation will be allowed in the classroom. Additional family members may wait on the observation deck and watch flying sessions.

Please sign up for the appropriate education.  Parents are welcome to purchase a ticket for themselves as well if they would like to fly.

Elementary Level Education

11:00 am – Arrival, check in and confirm waivers are filled out

11:15 am – Education & Lab Activity

12:15 pm – Physics Demonstration (Ball Demo)

12:30 pm – Flight Training / Safety Class

1:00 pm – Flying

1:30 pm – De-Gear and Receive STEM swag bag

1:45 pm - Estimated Departure

Middle School Level Education

1:00 pm – Arrival, check in and confirm waivers are filled out

1:15 pm – Education 

1:45 pm – Physics Demonstration (Ball Demo)

2:00 pm – Lab Activity

2:30 pm – Flight Training / Safety Class

3:00 pm – Flying

3:30 pm - De-Gear and Receive STEM swag bag

3:45 pm – Estimated Departure
