iCan Bike Camp Yuba City

Helping individuals with special needs gain confidence through bike riding. How Does It Work? iCan Bike uses a fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to teach individuals with disabilities to learn to ride a two-wheel bike independently. Participants attend one 75-minute session each day for five consecutive days where they learn to ride while accompanied and encouraged by a volunteer. Gradually the riders discover the skill and joy of riding a bike. Session Times Session 1: 8 – 9:15 am Session 2: 9:35 – 10:50 am Session 3: 11:10 am – 12:25 pm Session 4: 1:25 – 2:40 pm How to participate: Requirements for participation: Minimum of 8 years of age With a disability Able to walk without an assistive device Willing and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet Able to sidestep to both sides Maximum weight 220 lbs. How you can help: Volunteer Volunteers work directly with the riders as a “spotter”.
