Here's a special treat for Christmas! It is with unbelievable excitement that we will have with us one of THE world experts on statistical integrity and p-values, talking to us about statistical integrity and p-values.

Prof. Steven Goodman, MD, MHS, PhD, previously at Johns Hopkins, is the Chief of the Division of Epidemiology, the co-director of the Meta-Reserach Innoation Center at Stanford (METRICS) and a senior statistical editor at Annals of Internal Medicine. He is also one of the most gifted speakers you will ever have the chance to hear and a baritone!

This talk will be applicable to all aspects of science and will be highly interactive, so that we all get to ask the so many questions we have been having about these topics. As always, our talk is paired to optional reading. This time we have chosen the p-value plea issued by the American Statistical Association:

Wasserstein RL, Lazar NA. The ASA’s Statement on p-Values: Context, Process, and Purpose. 2016. The American Statistician, 70(2):129-33.

As always, free food will be available (..to the extent of our budget..)!

For more info on our initiative and join us visit our website here!

Hope to see you soon!

Stelios and Rebecca

P.S. The easiest way to get to M114 is through the Alway Courtyard, which you can access through the side of the hospital facing the Dean’s Lawn.
