Come check out this one-day pop-up art memorial from 9-6. You'll view 200 artfully displayed signs. Each sign will have the name of a present or past First Responder.
There is a brief ceremony from 12:00-1:00 PM during which we'll pay tribute and offer thanks to First Responders. Nedra Sims Fears, Executive Director of Greater Chatham Initiative, Alderman Roderick Sawyer, Carl Lewis, Brown Park Advocate, and others will speak. Stay afterward and picnic in the park, jog, play tennis or enjoy the playground.
We ask the public to provide information and images of First Responders who lived or worked in Greater Chatham (Avalon Park, Auburn Gresham, Chatham and Greater Grand Crossing neighborhoods). We’ll arrange the 200 signs within a select area of Brown Memorial Park at 634 E. 86th Street (west of Target and north of Quality Car Wash).
Please send a photo, name and service dates to info@greaterchathaminitiative.org or mail to P.O. Box 19217, Chicago, IL 60619.
