Then follow the directions to sign up.

A note about our schedule

This year, to our regular seminar style sessions, our second session of the retreat will be a discussion session. This discussion format will allow you to choose one of the discussion topics you would most like to share and/or learn more about. There will be an open time for sharing your experiences on the given topic, to ask questions of one another, and to offer words of encouragement to each other. As many are going through similar situations, these discussions will give you a chance to meet others who are traveling along beside you on your homeschool journey.

SESSION ONE SEMINAR CHOICES:

Judgment-Free Homeschooling Robin Helzer

Here you will hear ENCOURAGEMENT for creating and maintaining the homeschool YOU want with reviews of different homeschooling styles. We’ll look at how a day looks in these different homes, with details and helpful hints. We will also learn ways of responding to negativity regarding your choice.

Career Exploration: Tools and Tips Rebecca L. Fairbairn

One of the blessings of home education is that we get to spend lots of time with our children. We can use this time to carefully observe them and to prayerfully guide them in their career choices. Along with observation and prayer, there are many tools to help determine each child's God-ordained career path. Attend this seminar to learn about some of the available resources and tools to start your family on this exciting period of discovery.

The Highly Sensitive Homeschool Family Heather & Noah Underhill

Those with a Highly Sensitive Personality trait view the world through different lenses.  In a homeschooling family with one or more highly sensitive people, extra doses of grace and love must be extended daily. In this workshop, my teenage son, Noah and I will give you a peek into our sensitive world with loads of practical tips on how to thrive as a family. We look forward to sharing with you how we are finding joy in our sensitive family journey.

SESSION TWO DISCUSSION CHOICES:

Stress Management Facilitator: Robin Helzer

Character Training Faciliator: Rebecca L. Fairbairn

When Your Choices Are Different and No One Understands Faciliator: Angel Lambert

SESSION THREE SEMINAR CHOICES:

Now What? When your kid doesn’t want to go to College Robin Helzer

Are you concerned that your child isn’t showing interest in attending college? We will discuss the options outside of college and how to pursue them and how to help your young adult determine what he really wants. And I haven’t forgotten you, Mom...we will also discuss how to be ok with this choice and letting go.

Siblings Without Rivalry: Promoting Peace in the Home Rebecca L. Fairbairn

One of the hallmarks of a peaceful home is harmony among those who dwell there. Rivalry between siblings can destroy peace. How can parents banish Sibling Rivalry and foster Sibling Harmony? Learn how to encourage sibling love and promote peace in the relationships of your home.

Learning Through Play Heather Underhill

Play is an important brain-building activity. Children, teens and adults all benefit from participating in play as it is an essential part of life and development. In this session, we will explore ways to incorporate play into your homeschool to unlock the power of this valuable learning tool.  Come join us for a fun and engaging workshop!

SESSION FOUR SEMINAR CHOICES:

Letterboxing: A Fun Activity for The Whole Family Robin Helzer

Ready for a treasure hunt? Discover how to incorporate ALL the curricular areas in one activity. You will learn how to find a hunt, follow clues, and uncover the treasure. I’ll also show you how to create your own stamp, letterbox kit, and a letterbox of your own. Tips and hints for a successful hunt will be shared. (This workshop will also be presented at TTD-Columbus in June.)

Study Skills for Middle and High Schoolers Rebecca L. Fairbairn

In addition to specific academics, middle and high school instruction should include the tools of learning, so students can master content and continue to learn throughout their lives. One of the most important learning tools is Study Skills. Some of the topics included in this seminar will be: Active Reading, Highlighting, Summarizing, Note Taking, and creating Study Cards.
