An Evening of Chilling Halloween Delight brought to you by Herstory Theatre and The Arts at Angeloria's! October 18 & 19, 2019 at 8:00 PM October 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM Act One- "The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry, based on the film by Alfred Hitchock, with original music by Ed Rosenblatt is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc (www.playscripts.com). The 39 Steps by Alfred Hitchcock is a masterful blend of horror, comedy and romance; the movie is considered the template for the more well-known North by Northwest. It was the second in a series of films that established Hitchcocks reputation as a master of thrillers, skillfully addressing the great perils, intrigues, and romance of modern times. Joe Landry has redramatized the movie, incorporating elements from other sources including the original novel on which the film was based, later versions of the story as a radio show, and his own imaginative reinvention to raise up the presence of an authentically vintage Hitchcock of the 1920s and 30s, complete with live sound effects and commercial jingles. Act Two- To The Dogs, the world premiere of an original vintage Halloween radio play by Bill Arnold, a member of the Herstory Theater Company. To The Dogs is a thriller in the style of a vintage live radio show, but with a more modern sensibilityand sense of humor. The cast of HITCHCOCK AND HORROR features Bill Arnold, Chris Bushey, Rayah Martin, Steve OBrien, Jomarie Pipolo, and Virginia Wolf with Foley Artist- Matt Stevens. Tickets on sale soon! About Herstory Theater What started as a theater company dedicated to bringing unsung heroines of history to life (women accused of witchcraft in early Connecticut, a woman abducted during the King Philip War, a loyal maid to Mark Twain) has become a production company for many different and exciting projects. Some are just fun, such as this Halloween and Horror production and Its a Wonderful Life, a Live Radio Play; some celebrate women, such as 12 Angry Women, or Love, Loss and What I Wore; and some stretch us in ways we never imagined, such as the staged reading of the full length musical The Resurrectionists earlier this year. We never know whats around the corner, but we eagerly await it all! More info at www.herstorytheater.com. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
