Now that Daylight Saving Time is upon us, it's time to hike Two Trees!

Join us for a Monday Hike!

Two Trees Trail is a moderately strenuous hike in Box Springs.

Length: 3 miles (RT)
Elevation Gain: 950 ft.
Total time: Just over 1 hours
Dogs: Yes, on leash

Meeting Location Change: Unless RSVPs skyrocket, we will meet at the Two Trees Road (upper parking lot). If there is no parking in the upper lot, you can park at the end of Blaine in the dirt lot and meet us at the trailhead.

This trail climbs steadily (and is at times steep) to the Two Trees Park at the top of Box Springs. It offers great views of Riverside, and on clear days, Ontario and the San Gabriel Mountain range. This hike is a great beginning conditioning hike for longer treks.

When we have more daylight, we will add on an additional 3 miles.

There is wildlife along the trail, including rattlesnakes, so please exercise caution. You may also see mule deer, rabbits, coyotes, and a variety of birds. A sign at the beginning of the trail notes that there are cougars as well.

We expect to return as the sun is setting, so please be sure to bring a flashlight!

What to bring: a great attitude, sunscreen, hat, 2 liters of water, shoes with grip (hiking or trail runners--regular running/walking shoes will not be enough) energy snacks, and a flashlight, as it will be dark on the way down. Because the trail is extremely exposed, extreme heat (100+ degrees) cancels the hike. Please note: Organizers are not professional hikers or trained leaders and are not medically trained to handle emergencies. Please carry a personal medical emergency kit and any medications you need. Hiking is an inherently dangerous activity that can lead to serious injuries including but not limited to slip and fall injuries, fractures, rattlesnake bite, heat exhaustion, poison oak, ticks and frostbite. By participation in this event/hike you agree to not hold these organizers or affiliated organizations liable for any harm that may come to you, your guests, or your property. Always remember to let the event organizer know if you are leaving the group. Stay on the trail and do not hike alone.
