Southside Hospital in conjunction with the Suffolk County Police Department Aviation Unit will be providing a field demonstration and brief on Helicopter Safety and In-Service on:

Thursday, May 25, 2017 from
9:00-11:00 PM
Southside Hospital heliport.

The Suffolk County Police Aviation Unit provides medevac, inter-facility emergency medical transport and standard patrol activity throughout Suffolk County. The crew are Certified Critical Care “Flight medic”  and “Flight Nurses

The Suffolk County Police will be landing a helicopter on the helipad where the crew will explain the Suffolk County Police Aviation program, what providers need to know when calling for aviation to respond and a tour of the helicopter. Dr. Brian Blaustein, attending emergency department physician and EMS agency medical director will provide a brief on what occurs clinically when a patient arrived by way of aviation at Southside Hospital.

  • Two hours of EMS Non-Core CME has been approved under operations.
  • Dinner will be provided dedication to our community.
