The focus of this study is on improving the outcomes of hearing aid adjustment and speech understanding, as well as reducing co-morbid conditions.
This proposed study, led by Dr. Kari Lane from MU School of Nursing, will focus on patient-centered research techniques using qualitative research methods. Two-thirds of adults in the United States today own smartphones and 84% own a computer or tablet. For persons to use a web-based application consistently, it should be designed by the user. Engaging hearing aid users in this study will positively impact the results.
Why are we passionate about this? This is what we believe: helping people adjust to hearing aids will promote hearing aid use and has the possibility to decrease side effects of untreated hearing loss including memory loss, depression, and fear of living alone.
Sincerely,
HEAR group
