Franz Joseph Haydn wrote some 60 Piano Sonatas, all of which exhibit the same evolution in compositional style that we see in his string quartets. Tonight’s program, led by the incomparable French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, will explore Haydn’s piano sonatas in the grand yet intimate surroundings of the Cathedral’s Great Choir, just as Haydn would have intended.
