Gustavo Dudamel returns to Cal Performances for master classes with UC Berkeley student conductors and the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, and a ‘Berkeley Talks’ event with Cal Performances’ Executive and Artistic Director Matías Tarnopolsky. All events are free and open to the public. Dudamel’s appearances at Cal Performances comes on the heels of his Super Bowl 50 Halftime performance with the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA).
These events complete Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra’s 2015-16 Berkeley RADICAL residency begun in September 2015. Cal Performances’ Berkeley RADICAL (Research and Development Initiative in Creativity, Arts and Learning) is a framework to cultivate public artistic literacy and create cultural access for diverse current and future audiences
