About the program: Introduction to Non-Verbals...The foundational skills of The Catalyst Approach™

Studies show that 82% of all communication is non-verbal. An educator’s thoughtful use of non-verbals has a substantial impact on creating more effective learning environments. The skills learned in this course allow educators to preserve their most powerful leverage point: relationships. Educators love these strategies because they create an atmosphere where less time is spent on management and more time is spent learning.

Course Objectives:

Participants will learn several key non-verbal strategies and discuss why non-verbals can be even more effective than verbal management tools.

The skills taught in this course will support teachers’ ability to:

  • Get students' attention even more quickly
  • Enable efficient transitions to increase student time on task
  • Foster student independence
  • Increase students’ understanding of teacher expectations and curriculum.

Benefits:

  • Teachers will have less stress and more energy
  • Teachers will establish and preserve positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • Students will become more productive and spend more time on task
  • Students will become self-directed and responsible for their learning

About the instructor:

Rachel Babbs, M.E.D., a Midwest Educational Consultants, Inc. Trainer, Coach, and Evaluator, has been an educator for more than 25 years. Her passion, enthusiasm, humor and knowledge give participants an unforgettable learning experience. Through lecture, demonstration, and role play (simulation), teachers come away from Rachel’s courses with powerful non-verbal strategies that enable teachers to decrease time spent managing students and more time teaching.
